About Us – UAE Calculators: Our Mission & Author

About UAE Calculators

UAE Calculators is a personal project founded by Elena Rostova. I built this platform to give UAE residents exact, legally compliant calculation tools. Every formula on this site is verified by me against official UAE laws and banking regulations. No data is stored. All math runs in your browser.

Why I Built This

Problem with Existing Calculators

Most online calculators fail UAE residents. They use generic formulas that ignore specific legal requirements. A 5% error on a gratuity payout or loan EMI can cost you thousands of Dirhams. I built this platform to eliminate that risk.

Dangerous Errors on Other Sites

Many overtime calculators use a 365-day divisor instead of the legally mandated 30-day divisor. This wrong math reduces your owed OT pay.

Many gratuity calculators still apply old resignation penalties. Those penalties were abolished under the current UAE Labour Law. Using outdated tools means accepting a lower payout than you legally deserve.

Generic international tools give wrong answers for UAE-specific questions. They simply change the currency symbol to AED without adjusting the underlying legal math. This creates false expectations and costs residents money.

My Approach

How I Solve the Problem

I do not just change the currency symbol to AED. I start with the exact legal text from Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 and Central Bank of the UAE directives, then build the calculator around it. Here is how I ensure every tool gives you the correct answer.

⚖️

Legal Accuracy

I code based on the exact text of UAE labour law and Central Bank directives. When the law changes, I update the formula immediately.

🔓

Zero Data Storage

All calculations run directly in your browser. I never send your salary details, service dates, or loan amounts to any server.

📊

Full Math Breakdown

Every result includes the step-by-step calculation. You see exactly how the tool arrived at the final number. No black boxes.

🇦🇪

UAE-Only Focus

I do not build tools for the US, UK, or Indian markets. Every feature is designed specifically for the UAE legal and financial environment.

Quality Control

My Review Process

Every calculator goes through a strict multi-step review before publication. I also audit existing tools whenever new legislation is passed.

Step 1

Source the Law

I locate the exact article in the official UAE legislation. For example, Article 51 of the current employment decree for gratuity.

Step 2

Code the Formula

I write the JavaScript based strictly on the legal text. I do not use shortcuts or approximations in the math.

Step 3

Test Against Official Examples

I compare my tool’s output against published MOHRE examples and UAE labour court case results. The numbers must match exactly.

Step 4

Continuous Auditing

I review tools every six months or immediately when new laws are decreed. The “Reviewed” date on every page reflects my last audit.
